You are probably doing damage to your operating rod. Garand ammo in 30-06 needs to be loaded to ammunition specifications of circa 1936ish.I shoot any and all 30.06 in my Garand. Just buy a box at Canadian Tire and away you go. If you want bulk ammo, click on the dealers listed above.

I have never encountered a problem and I've had the rifle apart a few times. Mind you I shoot light factory loads. Thank's a lot for the heads up!
