looking ammo GARAND 30-06

I shoot any and all 30.06 in my Garand. Just buy a box at Canadian Tire and away you go. If you want bulk ammo, click on the dealers listed above.

Federal American Eagle .30-06 FMJ (AE3006N) is very popular with Garand-o-philes in the US. It is loaded to levels that are safe for a Garand in good condition. Stay away from heavy projectile (>168g) or "high energy" factory loadings in .30-06 and you should be fine.

I reload for mine, but not everyone reloads.

If you're serious, find a source who sells it by the case lot.

You are probably doing damage to your operating rod. Garand ammo in 30-06 needs to be loaded to ammunition specifications of circa 1936ish.

I have never encountered a problem and I've had the rifle apart a few times. Mind you I shoot light factory loads. Thank's a lot for the heads up!

Good luck with hopefully minimal damage friend. You might want to google "NRA recommended handloads for the 30-06 Garand"
Try to avoid Master Po's website, which usually comes up on this very subject. It is rife with pop-ups and computer viruses.
Another great source for this handload data is the May-June 1989 Handloader magazine #139.

Cheers!
