I'm looking at a Remington Sendero sf in 7 mag. Anybody have any experience with them?
For $1200 they seem like a pretty good buy. I want to stick with the mag because I want enough down range energy for big game at 500 m.
Anybody have any thoughts about any other rifle in the same price range and caliber that will shoot as well/
Thanks.

They are a very nice rifle not matter what calibre.

One friend has the 300 Win mag and the other has a 7mm mag. Both are very effective on deer out to 500m. They do a bit of damage on the game at ranges of 100 to 200m but if its a well placed shot there's not a lot of loss.

They are a bit heavy though so a dangerous game sling is a good idea. You can carry it out front and let the sling take most of the weight but the design of the sling allows for a quick move to the shoulder. They're only about 30 bucks.

I love the stock and I wish I could find one similar for my Savage.

1200 for a used one seems like a little too much but if its new that sounds pretty good.

The $1200.00 is for a new rifle, as listed at Wholesale sports.

Any thoughts on Optics?
Anybody know anything about Huskemaw?

I have one and it shoots greats 1/2" MOA and under. I shoot out to 1000 yards with it. I am going to put a RKS barrel on it for this year. It is a good starter gun. You can shoot it until you can afford to change the barrel and make other up grades. Just my two cents.

I got mine a Cabela's for $1120. They are currently $1392. They occasionally come on the EE under Sporting Rifles but it has all the qualities of a Precision.

Mine's a 7mm STW. I put a jewell trigger and speedlock pin in it. It is wickedly accurate. I haven't done any 500 yard plus shooting with it yet, but I would not be uncomfortable doing so. You won't be disappointed buying one.

I have one in a .300 UM & its AWESOME!!! Ive shot 4 deer from 200-400 yards through the boiler room and not one went more than 15yards with no mess or loss of meat, pinky going in,thumb size goin out, with 180g ultra bonded core-lokt

I have one in 338 RUM and it is great, I was firing from a bench at an 8" target at 500 yards and could easily keep all shot well inside it, actually Brutus was there too and he did the same. I have shot 3 deer and a moose with it and it just hammers them, unfortunately this caliber is not chambered in the Sendero anymore.

They need a trigger job - $30 to $40 most times...

They usually shoot pretty good... and the good thing is they make an excellent basis to build a very accurate rifle when that barrel is worn. True the action and install a custom barrel for even better accuracy.

Where abouts in BC is Brentwood bay (didn't google). Sound like you can do a trigger job on mine......maybe a new barrel. I travel out there (van island) often. or.....mail in?
