looking at a remington 1100.. need help.

Hey guys local gun store has a used 12gauge remington 1100 20' barrel 2 3/4. Sticker price is $399 and it looks like its in pretty good shape. Seller said it has some sort of issue with the trigger but since he is like 90 and has tons of guns couldnt remember what exactly it was doing. It dry fired alright, bolt cycled manually with no snags. Anyways he told me $300 taxes in. Does anyone have any input on what to look for on these guns? also wondering if parts like the trigger group or barrel would fit off my 870?

Barrels and trigger group will not interchange with the 870. Minor parts will, but not the major ones.

Aside from the usual wear and tear that is visible on the outside, the major wear is internally and not easy to see without disassembly.
