Yes the are, they’re a hell of a lot of fun to for shooting small game.

For ground swatting grouse, pretty much any shotgun will work. And a full choke might be the best choice to avoid ruining the meat, just shoot high and hit the head/neck area.

Exactly, pattern for distances and head shoot when ground swatting. Which I prefer as I dislike picking pellets out of my meat.
