I'm kinda bored with my 10/22t, starting to look at picking up a .17hmr of some sort. From my limited research, there appear to be very few semis in this cal, what gives? I prefer semis 'cause I'm left handed, and right handed bolts (read: every freaking bolt gun out there) are a pita, haven't seen a mfg that makes a sinister bolt gun in this cal, are there any?
Rossi makes a cheap break open, anybody try one?
What are you cats using?
Thoughts? Opinions? Baseless conjecture? Childish name calling?

I have a 597 semi (Laminate-Heavy barrel) and it is a TON of fun. hits quarters @ 100, and the semi is a blast on running jacks. The only complaint (and I mean the ONLY) I have with this rifle is that unless the mags are kept spotless it is hard to load more than 5 rounds. Unfortunately, the 597 has been a safe queen since I picked up a 204....keep an eye on the EE, I think it's going to find a new home in the next month or so.

I'm a lefty as well. I bought an NEF single shot, and it shot as good as any other 17 HMR any of my friends had. Made kills regularly on gophers at 150M plus....and, it works great for us lefties! Cheap rifle too BTW....

I'll look into the NEF, the only single I've seen lately was the SS Rossi at S.I.R. for $217or so. How're you guys likin' those Savages? The price ain't bad. Believe it or not, I've never used a lh bolt before, not too many around...
