Looking at getting my first AR - A quick question

I feel dumb right now.

Lots of options and some great deals in the EE.

If you buy a used rifle from here make sure you check the persons post history.
There was a dude selling his ar15 that worked like a charm and never had any problems but a quick look at his history showed him posting all kinds of #### about his Ar that wouldn't work.

I had both. I would go for the 14 if you want one for shooting .
right now I use the 10.5 only because of the lighter weight and compactness. if you don't care about how heavy the gun is go for the 14.5. it shoots a little better.
