Hi, just wondering what kind of experiences other CGN'ers have had with this particular product from Marstar. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

the 9mm model is excellent even without 7x61 's clean ups....

I have one the 7x61 has gone over and love it. Really good pistol. It has eaten 250 rounds (about) and have had no troubles.

Just took my new NP-40 out today. The third shot jammed on the feed ramp but not one glitch afterwards. Put thru 100 rds of winchester factory 180gr wincleans and 100 handloads, 180 gr lead truncated flat point. My groups were about 4" at 20 meters with all loads, which is OK considering I'm not a good pistol shot.

The mags do fall free when the release is pushed. My only ##### would be that the mags are altered to only hold a tight 8rds of 40SW, that only being a problem when confronted with the meanest gang of cardboard zombies.

Eight! Are you sure? Maybe you need a mag loading tool. Use an empty 9mm brass to push down the rounds and insert the next one. If it doesn't hold 10, I'll pass. Let us know.

The eight round is really tight and I needed a loading tool to get that one in. It seems bottomed out. There is a piece of metal tacked to the bottom inside of the mag that is flanged to prevent the follower from going down anymore. I suspect that the 9mm and 40 cal's are the same mag, so there probably set up for 10x 9mm.

I assume there are better after market mags for these pistols.

I like the pistol very much. Way nicer finish compared to the Browning HP clone I saw.
Trigger's pretty good on this one.

Please contact Marstar. The ad says 10. It should be, or send it back. 8 is not 10. A 15 shot 9mm mag should hold 10, maybe 11 rounds of .40, so there should be no modification at all.

Chances are that Witness and Baby Eagle magazines will work. But I'm only guessing.

I will contact them. The ad. does say 10.

Real CZ's are a good deal but at that are still almost twice the cost of a Norinco. I've handled both now and am not sure the real McCoy is worth the doh., at least not for what I'm using it for. I might be tooting a different toon after a 1000 rds or so.(?). I prefer the blued finish on the chinese gun over the 'painted' CZ. Again time will tell.

I really like my NZ-85b, have about 2,000 rds through it with no problems, many people comment on how they like the trigger and finish.

Although the grips are not bad, I put Hogues on mine and have tried CZ mags and they fit nicely. My main complaint is that the cuts in the slide for you to grip are to shallow and it is hard to ####. A good deal and at $400 a very decent gun.

I've got 5000 rounds (plus or minus) through my 9mm NZ85b. I had one problem with a screw that worked loose (no broken parts, fixed in 2 minutes).

It regularly shoots as good or better than *insert name brand here* in our local matches.
