.308/.300WM/7mm, between Mossberg ATR, Stevens 200, all with a 50-150$ 3x9x40mm scope or a Savage 111FCXP3.

I'll do some plinking once in a while, no 300rounds session.

Need to be accurate and reliable up to 200m

Two of my hunting partners have the Savage package rifle in .300 Win Mag. They both like it, and one got his name into the Boone and Crocket for mule deer bucks with his. Given a choice, the other partner says choose the synthetic stock, the detachable magazine and the Accutrigger - just to buy a bit more rifle while you have your wallet open.

I have the Savage 111FCXP3, which I bought used and put on a Leupold Scope. The only reason I'd buy the Savage over the Stevens 200 is if you desire a detachable magazine, which was the reason for my choice. Otherwise, buy the Stevens and use the money to buy a quality scope mount. The scope that comes with the package gun is unreliable. The guns themselves are good. I went for the 300 WM as I thought it would be more multipurpose, but all three choices you have listed are great for Deer.

Stevens 200 is 339$ (no .308 avail.)
Savage 11FCXP3 with scope 435$
Mossberg ATR 299$ with Weaver scope base

Mossberg review look nice, just waiting to see if they carry .308

Stevens 200 & an Elite 3200 3-9x40 off the EE for around $180-200. With a set of Weaver rings and bases you'd be looking at around $700 ready to hunt

you dont need a 7mm or 300 mag to kill a deer inside 200y

get a 308

Budget? Budget? That ain't no budget. You ain't got no budget! We don't think that that's a budget!!!

A true 'budget' deer rifle is a bubbaed Lee Enfield. $50. :p

A good friend of mine bought his kid a Mossberg .270, and it shoots like a house on fire. Forget what glass he had on it (with him, more than likely an entry level Leupold) but he was really suprised with how well it shot for how little he paid.
Good luck with whatever you pick up!

I'm looking to see if I could get a used riffleman or VX1 leupold so I could buy one for this season.

I was looking to buy a Elite 3200 but Leupold warranty look way better than Bushnell (will pay even if you drop it).

The Mossberg in .308 look like a nice rifle with not too much recoil for my gf compared to a 300 WM or 7mm

You said deer, not T-Rex, right? No need for a 300 Mag. Something friendlier and less expensive to shoot would be the order of the day for DEER. Were it me, I would look at a 270 for DEER. Or even a 7-08 or a 6.5x55 or a 257 Roberts. They are all plenty for DEER.

T-Rex would be nice! would a .50 be enought? :D

Well I'm looking to plink with it too, .243 is out of the question for me, so next step is 270, so why not a .308 :)

I see by your post that it is going to be your first deer rifle....why not pick up a .303 military conversion.(many for sale on here) and use it ....if you enjoy the sport and the tough work involved...then go for the more expensive gun...if you find it is not your "game" then you are out literally nothing. Also at what distance will you be shooting? Open sights or a scope?..I have hunted for years with my open sighted .303 and have not been disappointed.
