Does anyone know where in Canada I can get some 20 parts lead to one part Tin. I would like to use this mixture to cast for BPCR shooting in my Sharps.
visit your local scrap yard and buy roofing lead it is almost pure at 98% Lead they use it for flashing around sewer stacks, Or contact Sasktel and ask if you can buy their scrap lead from cable splicing sleeves. When you have a supply of pure lead then order in from Canada Metals your pure tin bars they come in 1 lbs bars. then blend 20lbs pure lead with 1 lb tin and you will have your 20/1 mix
Canada Metals has an office in SE Calgary and may have something in Edmonton too. They can sell you "pure lead" but all you really need is their much less expensive "recycled lead" at much lower cost. It is still pure but bought back as scrap from big companies that buy the pure lead for manufacturing processes, at least that's what they've told me. They can sell you the tin too - in strip ingots of about 1 lb each. Tin is expensive at about $25/lb. It is the only way you can be certain of your alloy when casting good bullets and be able to reproduce that alloy at a later date. They also sell lino-type alloys and many others.

As someone else mentioned, buy some pure lead, or scrap lead(not Wheelweights), melt 20 lbs. and add 1 lb. of 95-5 solder, avail. everywhere, for your 20-1 mix. Incidentally, most of the BPCR folks that I make bullets for, myself included, use/like 30-1 mix, truth beknown, I have just as good results with pure lead!
