hi guys
I have rifle in many caliber, but not 223. I would use the 223 to shoot from bench or prone at 100 meter to 500 meter or as far as I can go. budget for gun 1000$ more or less. The rifle will only shot target
what would u get?

I'm super happy with my Weatherby Vanguard/Howa 1500, plus there enough chassis options and the aftermarket is growing quite a bit for these rifles so thats another great option as well!

EDIT: I always forget to give a shoutout for the one I haven't tried yet but I plan on it. The Ruger American Predator in 223/5.56 is a great choice and kind of my preference as it has a 1:8 twist which can handle some pretty heavy bullets. My biggest beef/I like it all at the same time is the AR-15 magaiznes now. I have lots of AR-15 magazine but I want to shoot heavy and the magazines can limit the design of the bullet. Its kind of a give and take with that rifle but it specs nice, wish the countour was a bit heavier on the barrel as well.

Not sure if its still there but the Canadian Tire on Walker road in Windsor Ontario had the Savage FTR rifle in 223 on for $1000 marked down from about $1500.

I have a CZ 527 carbine that fits your criteria. It is a great little rifle and a real pleasure to shoot. They are accurate and the set trigger is nice for range use.

Only downside is mounting Optics is a PITA. It requires 16mm dovetail rings and likely requires removing the rear sight.

Edit- I should add that a person would have to buy the 1-9 twist model as you are going to want to shoot ~68gr

The tikka will feed rounds from the magazine much easier and less force needed. My only complaint about my new cz 527 is the rounds seem so tight in the magazine that it takes quite the force to get the round into the chamber unless I work the bolt with a quick motion. Tikka varmint is one nice factory rifle. I’d like one in 204 ruger again as well

The keyword here is "NEW" , once your CZ will have 500rnd thru it you will like it a lot better than the Tikka. I own both rifle too by the way !

If you want the mag spring to soften a little faster leave rnd in it for a few days.
