any suggestion guys? please.

I put my vote in for the Hilux CMR, it's a 1-4x. About $400, has great glass, reticle is very well thought out and illuminated in green or red.

In a 1-4, I own a Millett DMS-1, a Hi-Lux CMR, and Burris TAC30, all of which are in your price range. All are decent optics, but I'd say my favorite is probably the TAC30.

In a simple magnified scope, I have a Burris AR332 and a Vortex Spitfire. Love the AR332. Using the Vortex is like looking through a bulky chunk of pipe. Not fond of it.

I'd personally suggest a used Elcan OS4, which is only a bit outside your price range, and better than any of the above. Not sure why you don't want one. I have one, and am waiting for a second to be delivered. Paid $900 on the EE for each of mine :)

Alternately an Elcan OS3 - I've seen them used for between $600 and $700. I got mine for $600.

That's a good price, I'm trying to swap a Aimpoint Comp M4s package on the EE for OS3 no takers lol. Where did you find it for that?
