Guys,
I recently picked up a Rossi Model 92 chambered in 454 Casull. I would like to load some 360 gn hard cast for it but I am having trouble finding any in Canada.

Does anyone know where to get some or any American suppliers that will ship to Canada? I know there is Bullet Barn in B.C. but the heaviest they have is 300gn.

Thanks for the help!

Get into casting, I did and love it.
I have an NOE 4 cavity HP mold for 45-70's that's replaced all other 45-70 mold's for now.
What would shipping be on 1000 of the boolit's your looking for?

Yep -

20lb Lee Furnace...

Design a custom mould at Mountain Moulds - $100 or so...

Ladle / Push thru size die - gas checks if you design your mould for one...

Say - $250 for the investment....

I believe that someone who used to be on this website had a custom mold made for heavy 454 bullets. If memory serves it was a gas checked design and had very good results. If your interested PM me and I'll see if I can dig up his name.

Those were 340gr WFN gas checked.

I purchased the mold, and had it sent to him to cast for me.

Very good bullets, but I have not yet killed game with them.

After shooting my Puma in .454, I'm starting to think my rifle actually prefers slightly larger bullets, like .453 or even .454, as opposed to the classic .452, but have not shot enough to really be sure.

Another thing a fellow can do is size down commonly available .45-70 bullets (normally .458) to fit the .454 Casull. I have done this, and it makes acquiring 350-360 grain bullets easy peasy. A reloading friend of mine lent me a Ranch Dog six cavity 350 grain tuble lube mold for the .45-70 that makes great bullets for both the .45-70 and the .454 Casull, depending on how you size them.
