Can anyone point me in the right direction for cast bullets in .40 cal?? The range I belong to allows only non jacketed for the indoor pistol range, and I'm not sure where to look. Thanks in advance.:)

Murray Charlton has started making some bullets, ht tp://www.mdcharlton.ca/home/bullets/bullets.html.

I am surprised your range allows lead, most prefer to ban lead before they ban jacketed from what I have heard, including my local one.

My range also does not allow jacketed ammunition, due to both backstop limitations and higher risk of rickochetes.
They do allow plated bullets though. maybe that would be an option for you.

I did some snooping on the net, and it seems MD Charlton and Bullet Barn both have what I might need( on the website anyways).

I didn't actually ask if plated bullets were okay:redface:, I should have thought of that. I believe their reasoning for cast only is because the backstop is beat to death.

I'd much rather deal with plated bullets, and I'll check into that this week.

You may want to check out the line-up of cast bullets from M.T. Chambers in Sask., quality control is first and foremost, hand cast, to your specs, no shipping costs to P/A or Saskatoon. Owner's a bit weird, but who cares when you get bullets that are a cut above.

.401"(.40 cal.) 175 gr. Trunc. cone 1gr.....$40/delivered/500 any hardness except, pure Lino, all guaranteed, insp........401" Flat pt 180gr. 2 groove $45/500/delivered.....If you're used to Excel or the "Barn" you will be impressed. Check with others that have used Chambers bullets, or get a small quantity to try from retailers such as WSS in S'toon, Sask. Gunshop, Arnies Guns in Prince Albert, Williams Arms in Ontario. Average shooters tend to shoot up to their ammo, and having match grade bullets will eliminate any doubts about your ammo.

Wellllll.....Looks like I`m going to have to see John at William`s....The quality of your .54 cal HB for my 1863 Sharps is superb, so your .40`s must be first rate, match grade!.....:)
