Looking for .410 ammo

I buy the 3" inch federal from a store called wolverine guns and tackle. They had lots of 2.5" as well last time I was in. Not sure if they ship but I imagine they would. They actually have a very good selection of .410, the best I have seen. Buckshot, PDX1, various slugs and all sorts of birdshot.

You gotta keep your eye out for that shell in number 4 shot. They make it but 410 is not too popular for waterfowl shooting (#4shot), but rather smaller game, birds and partridge. Personally, I load my own .410 because its 1/5 the cost of preloaded factory ammo, but still not in number 4 shot, its just not effective for my hunting needs.

I bought 4 boxes of Federal #4 from Wholesale Sports this fall. They had plenty in stock and Winchester #4 too. Might be worth a call. The website doesn't seem to be worth #### anymore. I can stand in the store and half the rifles on the rack don't show up in online inventory.

I don't see much #4 in 410 since steel became mandatory for waterfowl. I actually gave away the #4 that I had, when that happened. Just curious as to what the intended use is, as I never buy larger than #6 or #7-1/2 for the 410.

I like it in #4 for ptarmigan, less shot to pick out of the bird and seems to give me better range than #6. I'd also by #6 but right now there is nothing available locally for .410 other than slugs.

Canadian Tire has some, if there is one in Yellowknife these days maybe they can get it in for you. Also as the posted above mentioned about Wal-Mart, maybe they can do the same.
