I personally would be more interested in accuracy than flat shooting. Getting a hunting bullet over .500BC is gonna be tough. the SST's are just below and the Scirocco's are .515, this is pretty good for a hunting bullet and the Sciroccos will reach out and be consistent.The animals won't be able to tell ya the speed difference anyways.
You mention you are looking for a long distance deer round. I have never used the lighter 7 mm bullets in my rem mag because they don't come anywhere near the .625 BC of the Hornady 162 Grain Amax. For a long distance hunting round, over 300 yards, this bullet started at 3000 fps with 4831, is very hard to beat. Great wind bucking and about as flat as it gets. This would be my suggestion for a long distance hunting load.
