looking for 9mm +p or +p+ rounds???

I'd avoid +P+ loads like the plague. +P loads are at least regulated as 10% above normal pressure but there are zero industry standards on +P+ ammo. I've almost never seen +P+ ammo for sale; only once or twice at gun shows. I've seen the occasional box of +P ammo at specialty stores or gun shows. SFRC has a bunch listed but all out of stock.

Are you looking for heavy loads which are also +P loads? +P doesn't mean a heavier bullet and most are loaded with standard weight bullets. If you're looking for heavy weight ammo it may be at normal pressures and isn't +P.

The heaviest I've seen is 158gr in 9mm but I have heard that there is some 160gr around. None of the big US manufacturers (Federal, Winchester, CCI, Remington) load anything about 147gr. I believe some of the European manufactures make heavier stuff. Prvi or S&B maybe? Fiocchi lists a 158gr 9mm on their site but I can't find any for sale in Canada. How heavy are you looking for?

147 grain +p loads really bring out the potential of this caliber. Unfortunately, they are pretty much unobtainium in Canada. We need someone to import Underwood ammo from the states whereby they offer the 147 +p as well as a 147 +p+ with what I believe is a Gold Dot bullet. It would hit pretty hard for a 9mm.

I've put thousands of +P and +P+ loads through my Glock and have had zero issues. I prefer the Speer GDHP in 124gr +P, great all round load. Also like the Winchester Ranger T series 127gr. +P+ loads. Speer makes a 115gr. +P+ that averages 1400fps out of my Glock 17's. Almost 500 ft/lbs of energy.

Zero issues putting +P or +P+ loads through Glocks as far as I know. Could be wrong but I have had no issues at all.

I was looking into just that and apparently Glock approves all SAAMI rated ammunition, including +P (10% above max in 9mm) in their pistols. It wont void your warranty either (unless they suspect you were using handloads).

+P+ ammo is unregulated so some of it is below the SAAMI +P pressure limit and others are above. +P+ is kind of useless in terms of pressure estimate as there is no standard on what +P+ means. Several sources I checked said NATO 9mm ammo is a little above regular +P so voids some warranties; I haven't checked NATO test data personally.

Personally I don't like chasing my brass and prefer handloading so I'll stick to revolvers and .357 magnum for that power level.

what i am looking at is replicating the Russian 7N21: 82 grain bullet @ 1508 fps or 7N31: 65 grain bullet @ 1967 fps. i have a viking pistol with the military barrel and it has a very hard time shooting the little 115s or 124s. i even had trouble with one hang up with a 147. it really needs a powerful round to work properly. its not made for the 115s. its made for the russian rounds

41k psi for the 7N21 according to data on Wikipedia. That's above SAAMI +P rated ammo and +P+ is all over the map with various below +P pressure so they aren't a guarantee of anything.

Have you considered handloadng? You could try to find data for 9mm major power level IPSC standards which is above +P. Very few companies (and none available in Canada last I checked) produce this ammo at all so you likely have to handload it.

NATO spec 9mm is said to be around 42k psi based on some reading I've done (not confirmed). Have you tried any of that?

at this point i will have to handload. i am not having any success even finding +p rounds.

i will have a look for the Nato rounds. might have to find them at a gun show?

Buy 1000 campro 147s. Start loading in 0.5 gr increments with a suitable powder, like Power Pistol, make 20 of each and shoot them for function and accuracy. When you find a load that cycles and shoots, well, load all the bullets.

Or, buy another recoil spring for it and clip 4 coils.

Had a buddy that bought a Sterling and decided to reload for it. Learned the first time out lighter stuff wouldn't cycle it properly. He went to 147's with a "stout" load and never had the problem again
