Hey, i have an sr22 which i had started working on, but put on standby for weight issues.
I wanted to make a classic looking rifle out of it, and be light and manoeuvrable.
I had put a 12" bull barrel on it, was very accurate but heavy. The stock 16" .750" barrel is lighter.

So i am searching for a 12" .750" dia barrel. This way it will be even lighter than the stock config, and being .750" i can bolt on AR clamp on gas sights. Maybe go delta ring and all, but for now i just want a short and light barrel.

My 12" .920" mcgowen will go on a more of a precision build with a scope and all, i wish to keep the sr22 redot and make a sort of action shooting rifle out of it.

I also found that HiCal had some 12" Dlask that would fit the bill, but there out of stock.
I feel like i have put enough money in my 10/22s for this year so the Dlask is more in my budget point.
Funny canadian laws, can't cut a barrel, that would of been my cheaper alternative but it's a no go

I went with a tactical solutions barrel.
15oz. Less than a pound. 16" but not cheap at $260 including shipping/taxes on ebay. Wanstalls will be $300+
Is a great barrel!

I tried to find a charger barrel. Couldn't so I went with a dlask barrel
NEA also makes a 9" and 12" barrel I think.
Again, +1 for tactical solutions if weight is an issue.
FYI, the 8" barrel was almost as loud as my 5.56!

i have 2 Dlask barrels and love them, but if your looking for light barrels then you may wanna look at a TS one, cause Dlask ones are solid metal and they have some weight to them.
i picked up a TS from wanstalls for 250 and it weighs less then a feather.

Why don't you order direct from dlask? Cut the middle man out.

Because the middle man usually has priority access to materials, and in some cases as i retail myself (plumbing) in comes up to the same price as he gets volume discounts. Yes i will check dlask from time to time, but as mentionned, i do have a 12" .920" downstairs, and for this build a 12" .750" is required. From factory i think they only had them on the sr22. The charger has the .920" if my memory is right.

Edit: i could go .920" if the tac solution is much lighter, has to be no more than 12". From what i see they make them 16"

I got a charger bbl, 10.5" threaded, and it seems to have a normal taper. Its def not .920. Not he best pic to show the bbl, but you can see that it's a smaller diameter than the base of the flash hider.

Thanks for sharing Gcdavidson, i will look into this.
I had started a project a few months ago and quit, but now restarting and the charger barrel might be my way around this.
