looking for a 25-05 dear load

I am looking for a 25-06 deer hunting load. Thinking about using Noslar BT or Hornady SSTs. I have not decided on a powder.

I hope that a "deer" load, not a "dear" load!

With a 25-06 my favourite load by far was a 115 grain Nosler Partition and about 53 grains of RL22 with a magnum primer. Over 3100 fps and a lightning bolt on deer.

They kill deer just as fast as the more frangible bullets you mention, and are far better if you need a bit more penetration.

I use Reloader 22 and 100 gr BT.

I have used, with real good results, 120gr Hornady HP over 53gr RL-22. Slays deer, and when that coyote pops up, it rarely causes heavy pelt damage. Give it a try!!!

The ballistic tips may get a bit explosive on deer inside 150 to 200yds.

I use 115gr. partition with 60gr. of Retumbo, it's accurate and fast (3100fps). H4831 works well also.

Mine is 54 grains of H4831 and a 115 Nosler BT.

After a lot of shooting the 25-06 this is my favorite load:
Rem. Nickel brass
Fed. 215 primer
57 gr. Norma MRP (next to Reloader 22 on the burn rate charts)
100gr. Nosler partition
Muzzle vel. 3250 fps
This is out of a 24" barrel, and I've found it just slightly better than H4831 in terms of velocity, and no difference in accuracy.
