Looking for a 32-20 rifle -- point me in the right direction?

That rifle is beyond beautiful! However, for that amount of money and hassle, I would have to physically inspect first. After being burned twice, I have a "handle first" policy, unless it is from my small "trusted EE seller" list.
I would be confident that the bore and action would be in perfect condition. The main thing would be any cosmetic damage, so I would ask for photos. The Browning Model 53's that I see tend to be pretty much unused. There are some in Canada here, as I handled a beaut in Reliable Gun and Tackle about 20 odd years ago and almost bought it at the time. Trouble is, there were very few brought into Canada. Most of them are in the USA and you can always find one or two up for auction on Gun Broker. On another note, since others are showing off their 32-20's here is my original Winchester Model 53 32-20 made in 1929. The 32-20 is my favourite cartridge for small game and for introducing young shooters to the art of shooting. No recoil, not too much of a bang, but still delivers the goods.

Another option is the Marlin 1894 CL in 32-20. This rifle was produced back in the 1980's and there weren't very many made, but you may come across one up here. If it were me, though, I'd be going for the Browning Model 53, definitely cheaper than paying for an original Winchester Model 1892 or Model 53, but something that gives great joy to fondle and shoot and look at.
