Looking For A 500 Smith & Wesson

Hey all.

In your travels if you happen to see a Smith & Wesson 500 with the 8 3/8th barrel, please note the price and where. And pass along.

Dad turns 65 this year, so I am gonna get him one for his birthday. Starting now incase one has to be ordered.

I see the 460 comes in a 5" barrel. But dad is more of a collector then a shooter, so I am thinkin the "big one" will be more appropriate.

Might not help you, but almost every time I cross the border I see one in the showcases. Depends how out of the way it is.... for me it is just as easy to purchase in the U.S. Other than that I havent seen them listed often (other than used) on any Canadian dealer sites. Good luck in your hunt.

Thanx Prairie Medic. I saw that one but it has the 10" barrel and doubt that it would be to his liking. From what I can judge about his gun tastes.

I see Wholesale has them listed, but don't know about stock. The wife is around right now, so asking about a gun would get me in stuff.

I saw one at the Powderkeg in Kamloops a few days ago. Don't know the cost but it looked like an awesome piece of equipment.

Also take a look at the Performance Center model. I think it looks a lot nicer than the regular barrel, plus it comes in a 7 1/2" barrel. I have fired one and it handles very nicely.

Yep, that's the one. Very difficult to find on their website.

It looks awesome in person and the barrel length is very nice, controllable but not too long. This is the model that is on my "to buy" list.

Saw a .500 s&w at the Edmonton fish and game show today. looked like a 6 or 8 inch barrel, with that long cylinder its hard to say as i wasnt really paying too much attention. no clue on price sorry
