Anybody else remember the day Kennedy got popped?
All the news announcers were screaming that everyone would remember forever what they were doing on November 22, 1963, The Day That President Kennedy Was Assassinated. It was so pervasive that I almost started wondering just WHOSE country he was leading!
Neat thing was that the CBC, in its normal cutting-edge-deep-research mode announced that Kennedy had been done with a ".30-30 Mauser". I didn't know what that was (still don't!) and so waited for the newspaper photos the next day. They showed a TS-38 with a scope.
Had a helluvva time explaining to my Dad that I had got my Carcano (38 Carbine) from one of HIS friends and that I had bought it 3 months BEFORE LHO bought his!
They ARE a fine little rifle. They were held back for many years by lack of a correct bullet, but Hornady now has done something about that. Now, if we can just get Canadian importers to STOCK the things. I just got bullets from Trade-Ex. My local shop had them on order for 4 years and still aren't in: their importer does drag his butt just a bit.
