I have matching sass edition 357 ruger new vaqueros I got when I joined the cowboy action shooting club I barely shot, maybe half a box each. Even before those I wanted a 6 or preferably 8 inches barrel 357 magnum double action revolver that is not too big. I like he Ruger I have for size and weight, would a 7 or 8 shot revolver be much bigger or heavier? Any of those have a way to mount a leupold vx-3 handgun scope?

If 44 is not out of the question, there are couples of interresting and cost effective options with Ruger.

The S&W 686 Competitor PERFORMANCE CENTER is scope ready. Very accurate, 6inch, nose heavy and not cheap.

I'm trying to get away from 44 magnums, just making a deal for my last gun and all my ammo. I have plenty of 357 left so I would rather get another 357. The problem with the new s&w is that it's not cheap

Rossi and Taurus, how are they for quality and durability? I would love another ruger if they made a similar revolver

I never shot one but if you read around. They don't seam to shine so much. Ok at best. They're no S&W, Colt or Ruger.

Have you looked at the Ruger KGP-161 357? It's a lot of revolver for the price.
I'm sure it doesn't require much gunsmithing to mount a scope on this baby.

They also have it in blued which is even cheaper.
