Looking for a budget entry level AR15, not made in China.

I think the Colt Expanse lower is indicated with the serial number starting with "CE"? Other differences I read about are the .223 on the side instead of 5.56. Also, I've seen that the Colt Expanse lower with Colt's MFG instead of Colt Defence.

Not a huge deal by any stretch, but I bet it would be a deal breaker for some collectors.

I'd probably buy one if I didn't just piece together an LE6920

LE6920's also have chrome lined barrels where the Expanse does not.

Try the Smith and Wesson M&P 15 VTAC. Got one this Spring from Bullseye London. Lots of upgrades come with it. Not only do I love it but everyone I let shoot it is comments the build quality and on how well it handles.

Well, finally ordered the S&W M&P Sport II from Bullseye in London a few weeks ago. Paid a bit more than Dante's were selling them on sale, but those snobs couldn't be bothered to prodess an EMT, so they loose. I'm hoping that the Quebec CFO won't take 6 months to process my AR. Will keep you updated.

Core 15.

Very well built, even their "low end" stuff. Lifetime transferable warranty and even their lowest price option is quite accurate.

Hard to beat Core 15 for the money imo.

Colt 6920 OEM-1. $1100 at Kelly's. That's probably the best deal you're going to get from one of the top names out there.

It's a 6920 with no furniture. Most people swap stuff out anyway. Or you can buy a used 6920 for $1800 on the EE, LOL.

Lol, some guy was trying to sell a bone stock LE6920 for $2500 a year or so ago......about 25 BTTs, lol!

I just realized that over the past month or so you could have built a complete Colt Canada/Diemaco rifle for about 1000 bucks. That would have make a Hell of a first rifle.
