i have an rdb that gets used for targets/hunting, pretty much my all around gun i usually have on me. 1/7 barrel ar mags

looking to order projectiles for the rifle, hoping for 69gr non fmj hopefully something thats not crazy expensive as i do a bit of shooting with the rifle. i was thinking something like hornady v max or varmint. but these only come in 60gr. thoughts on using these? any other suggestions around this range? currently shooting some 55gr vmax that i had left. little over 2 moa (could probably get it down more but thats what my savage 10 is for) just looking for suggestions or maybe someone has something lying around? so many bullets to choose from from so many suppliers

I have had good luck with those 55gn vmax, I would try different powder or charge loads first

For accuracy work, Best bang for the buck i have found is the Hornady 75 grain HPBT, available in bulk for around .24 each. On the plus side this round is devastating as a hunting bullet.

For cheap, i find their run of the mill 62 grain works fine as plinking ammo and is accurate enough from 1:7 barrels. .14 each

On the light side, i have found the 53 grain vmax does well in 1:7 barrels, as it is a long bullet. Great for small critters.

Speer 70gr semi round nose - Ballistic Coefficient .214

Hornady 73gr ELD - BC .398

When both started @ 2700 fps muzzle velocity :
300y
Speer - 1650 fps / 424 ft lbs energy (11.5" drop from 200y zero, 1.65" of wind deflection per 1mph of crosswind)
Hornady - 2100 fps / 715 ft lbs energy (8.6" drop from 200y zero, 0.8" wind deflection per mph crosswind)

Why make shooting more difficult? Use the ELD
