Hey guys. I am looking for cerakote applicators to quote me on an ar15 upper/lower and 13" BCM KMR handguard. Who do you guys recommend? I already got a quot from select shooting supplies. I have seen there work... good stuff. I would like to test the waters and get a few quotes before committing to anything. I will be doing a custome colour blend to create a very dark brown with a slight satin finish. here is a sample picture of my vision. (just the colour... I have different accessories)

any leads will be great!
Thanks Guys

Check out Arma-Coat, he is a sponsor here and his patented paint is much more durable than your standard cera-coat and gun-coat type paints, and he can do a huge range of colours.

Hard to tell by the picture, but looks kinda like a burnt bronze / coyote type colour on it.

Looks like a full rifle (if you send him fully stripped parts) is about 225 bucks for a single color. He does charge more to disassemble a rifle than if you send the parts you want totally stripped! He does awesome work though, had a few things done by him, and have known a few guys that had guns painted by him and they turned out great.

More durable than duracoat? Yes.
Guncote? Yes.

Cerakote. Nope! Armacoat is strong when properly applied, and cerakote is strong when air dryed to a properly prepped surface, but when baked on it is damn near indestructable. Beings it is based off of ceramics it also has naturally occurring lubricating properties as well.

Cerakote all the way!

agreed!

Downrange precision for cerakote. I had my rifle arma-coated by barret and comparing it to cerakoted builds they are both very durable but I like the arma coat a wee bit better.

Cerakote is harder and resists chemicals including salt spray and brake cleaner better than ANY other finish on the market. Period. Go to NIC industries web page and look up the test results of Cerakote against all the other major competitors. Tests were done by independent Labs and all products were treated the same way. A person can certainly have a personal like or dislike, for sure, but nothing on the market will out perform Cerakote. Some of the other products are definitely more user friendly for the home enthusiast granted.

Users need to be aware though, once the product reaches its failure point, it will scratch or show damage. It's not alien technology.

I've had my 870 done by this gentleman:

no hotlink to non business member please, per forum rules

He does excellent work at a fair price. I went with too dark of a color than I wanted, so I wasn't as happy with it, but the finish is holding up decently.

CGN User Mustang Frank runs BC Cerakote and does GREAT work.

I agree - he did two guns for me and Frank was a perfectionist with his work. I highly recommend his service.

Don't think so... heres a link to some of his work:
non business member hotlink removed

Sweet - my Savage 24 is on there.

We also do cerakote, mostly on our custom builds. But when we have time for customers. As frank said cera kote is the only way to go. Eveything else is just paint with epoxy in it.

Blue Cooker, Badboybeeson is in your neighbourhood and does good work. If he has time, I would look there for your work. He is also a paying sponsor. I am not.

as a side note: I don't particularly like the colours available. Can you mix different cerakote colours to get the colour I want?
