Hey folks, I'm looking for a CO2 powered (metal frame preferably) hangun for around $100 before taxes and shipping. I've been looking at the makarov .177 and such. Any ideas of anything else and also throw me some places online to get one in Canada. I'm not looking for tight groups and long range here, just a cheap little plinker to sit out in my back yard and have some fun with... Thanks

I've had a Gamo P23 for ~15 years. It's an awesome little plinker.
Single shot with pellet, semi with bb's.

It's still available just about anywhere for ~$100

Dollar for Dollars... the best value for power and cheep in CO2 pistol is the Crossman 2240. Its .22 cal, single shot... Its also hot about 1000 mods you can do if you choose... For $100, you could probably get a new 2240, and a 10-14 inch barrel... with a longer barrel and no other mods... you will be very close to the limit and have an accurate for a pistol.

Cheers,

I'd recommend the Umarex Walther PPK. Price around $80-90.
All metal (except the grips). It has blowback which is great...I've shot a 'real' .22LR PPK and the blowback isn't far off.
Not the most accurate gun in my stable...minute of pop can at 25ft.
Used by the NRA in the states for youth training...they are nearly bulletproof.

^x2 Google "D&L Airgun"

I have a walther night hawk. Very accurate 8 shot rotary clip. A lot more then you want to spend new but a used one or just the gun itself maybe had for a $100. Mine has a quad rail with red dot and tactical remote light

umarex sa-177, great pistol with powerful blowback (400fps min)and gets over 100 shots before the c02 starts to lose some power. You will love it. And you can almost get 2 for $100, they are around $60.

Or the best co2 Crosman ever made according to some the MKI looks like a cross between a Luger and a Ruger MKI.................Harold

Right on the money! The 2240 is the basis for all the high falutin' target pistols that Crosman makes. The 2240 isthe best selling co2 pistol in the world. That should tell you something. I upgraded mine with the little shoulder stock and it is much more accurate than any other air gun in my collection.

The Makarov is a very nice little pistol for the price. Decent accuracy up to about 10 yards, nice trigger crisp trigger, good weight and metal construction and a lot of shots per cylinder.

I'd second this as worth consideration.

Crosman had several of their older models that were and are, great shooting CO2 sidearms.

The current 2240 is a direct descendant from the original CO2 cartridge airgun, the model 150. Those, used, and in good nick, should come in around what you want to pay out. The MkI and MkII are pretty good target shooting guns for adult sized hands. There are a couple sources besides Crosman for rebuild parts, for these, too.

Dunno what to suggest if you are looking for a replica style CO2 gun. I've gravitated towards the older Crosman stuff, mostly single shot guns.

Cheers

TSC Stores have Winchester 1911 on sale for $89.99 now. Full metal, blowback mechanism. Made in Japan by Daisy. Looks pretty nice so I think about getting one :)

I like the Crosman 2240 myself. Decently crisp trigger pull, a good amount of punch right out of the box, and accurate enough to be highly satisfying. Some of the "cheap" offerings are fairly disappointing in at least one of the categories mentioned above, but the Crosman is a genuine bargain.

I recently bought the Jericho 941, for 89$. One of the most powerfull airgun pistol replica available. Someone I know as chrony it close to 512fps. Pretty accurate, full drop out magazine, 22 rnds. Pass both side of a hard metal soup can like if it was paper.

Another one of my favourite is the Tanfoglio Witness 1911, full metal, blowback, an exact replicas of the real steel! but this one is more expensive (around 150.00$)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the crossman 357. Mine is super fun, 435 fps, and it will keep all shots inside of 1" at about 15m which seems pretty good to me. 10 shot repeater, single or double action... Really fun gun. It was like $70 after tax.

I love my 357....fun, accurate and extra 10 round rotary clips are cheap so reloading is fast. Theres a place in Perth Ont. called Scopes and Ammo.com that sells them for $47. I also have a Gammo P85 blowback....16 round pellet, drop out clips, mostly metal construction...tons of fun. It can be had from Airgunsource.com for $89.
