Hi,

I'm looking for a new hunting scope for my .308. It must have the following four features:

1 - Fixed power (preferably 10x)
2 - Mil dot reticle,
3 - Mil adjustments on turrets,
4 - Hunting turrets.

Paralax adjustment would be an added bonus, but not essential.

I'm not too precious about the objective lens size, but 40mm would be ideal.

The cheaper the better (as long as it isn't total garbage!), but I could stretch to $600 maximum.

The Bushnell Elite 3200 Tactical ticks almost all the boxes, but it is only available with target turrets  - I prefer hunting turrets because of their low profile and resistance to getting "adjusted" accidentally. I never adjust elevation or windage in the field (I prefer to adjust my POA instead), so once I have the scope zeroed, I like to screw on the caps and forget about it:d

Any input or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

The only mil/mil fixed 10 with lowish turrets I can think of is the Schmidt and Bender. Which certainly isn't fitting your criteria....

The day might come where I stop wondering about it and go for it....

I would love an S&B. But my bank account would never forgive me!

It looks like I might just have to deal with target turrets and go for the Bushnell, which seems like a good deal for $200.

I have the "new" LRS version of the Bushnell fixed 10x... Those turrets are pretty tactile and require a deliberate adjustment.

Also, the lettering is fairly easy to see, and would require a quick glance before clicking off safe and getting into a position.

I think SFWS also has a 10x, but not sure how easy they are to obtain up north.

Another option that ALMOST fits the bill is a custom Leupold from Korth. It could be everything except fixed power 10X. For example a VX-2 3-9x40 with the mil low profile turrets and mildot reticle AND coming in well in your budget

Did your Bushnell come with mil turrets? I have found the scope on Amazon.ca with mil dot reticle, but according to the description and some Q&As the turrets are in MOA.

Cheers.

Yes the Bushy 10x is mil/moa. Its not difficult to figure, a mil is just 3.6 moa on the turrets. The turrets are excellent not even for the price point but as good as some scopes in the $1000+ range. Good markings make a quick glance at your zero a snap but mine never move unless I deliberately move them. Mil/moa is a small price to pay with this scope because the entire rest of it hits well above its weight class.

Thanks for your input; I may give one a go.

There is a mil/mil version, however I believe that it's only sold by midway USA.
