Anyone know of a French Red stain alternative that can be put together from supplies at a local hardware store. I'm going to be doing a stock soon for my P17 sporter and would like to do something that looks similar to a pre 64 winchester. My stock is a Walnut new Wenig stock.
Brownells has french red but Everything I try to buy from them gets cancelled because they cant ship to Canada. By that I mean triggers rust blue etc. So i'm looking for something I can get locally.
