Edit. Additionally, if I could source a gen 3 instead of a gen 4, am I loosing anything significant?

They are rare, took me a year of looking and then a new one showed up on the EE. You can also buy one from Irunguns and order a new barrel for it. I really like mine, it has less recoil with the compensator than my Glock 17.
