I'm new to CGN and I was told that if I needed a question answered, I could get it answered here, so here is my question.

I have recently purchased a Norinco CQ-A1 as my first rifle and I am trying to find a starting scope that I can use without removing the stock A4 front sight. I am in the military but the only experiance I have is with the
Elcan C79 scope and with the scope fitted there is a "ghost" image of the front sight

I have looked at 3 different models of scopes so far , they are:
Bushnell Trophy 1x32mm T-Dot ( 1x & 2X models)
AIM 4x32 Dual Ill. Scope w/ Fiber Optic Sight and the
AIM 3-9x40 Dual Ill. Target Scope w/ Mil-Dot

What I am really asking is if anyone could recommend a good scope or sight that works well with a AR and the stock A4 front sight and is within the
$200 - $300 dollar range.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I've mounted a Millet DMS 1-4x scope, it's pretty decent for the price, it's 260$ at P&D however, it doesn't come with rings, I'd recommend the Burris P.E.P.R QD mount, especially on an AR, which'll run you about 100$, I think I ordered mine from Mystic

I am about ready to give the Sightron 1-7 a go. I've been dealing with Jerry from Mystic Precision. Super guy to deal with.

I have ran a 3-9x40 a x10 tactical and the T-dot bushnell on my CQA, the 3-9 and x10 had no image of the front sight in the lense and the T-dot provided an excellent cowitness with the iron sight up front...

If it really bugs you just chop off the front sight with a dremel and stick a NCstar quad rail on it with a BUIS for well under a couple hundred bucks... For the accuracy your going to get out of a short AR with factory ammo a red dot is quite sufficient IMHO but if you want something on top that really doubles the resale the MK-AR is a mighty fine optic!

I also have a Norinco CQ but I went with an EOTech holographic sight. The C79 was an OK sight for the C7, but it had no business being on the C8 or the C9 for that matter. I know that some DMs in Afghanistan mounted Leupold scopes to their C7s, but for a carbine length weapon like the Norinco CQ, you might find a red-dot or a holographic much more compatible.

I would suggest looking at Aimpoint or EOTech models or the less expensive red-dots that a lot od dudes on this site use.

Good Luck
Chris

you could go with a Vortex Strikefire and get the tripler option VMX3 swing away mount or Viper PST 1-4x24 scopes. Even a Diamondback 2-7x35 if you want a straight scope that won't break the bank to start out with. If you decide to move on or upgrade it would work nicely on any other rifle you owned.
