Looking For a Good Goose Gun

Actual shot payload on a 10 guage is virtually identical to a 12 guage. You'll find that a 3.5 inch shell will produce a very good pattern with steel shot (frequently better than lead 3.5's) Cost wise you'll be happier with a 12 and you'll see the same results.

I shoot 3.5" Kent #2 (sometimes BB) steel through a 870 Super Magnum. I've killed geese out to 60 yards with it. The #2's flatten geese and ducks with no problems and the 870 has taken thousands of rounds of 3.5 with no reliablility issues at all. As far as I'm concerned an 870 is the ONLY way to go.

Does anyone make a 1 3/4 ounce steel load in a 12 gauge? It's a dandy in a 10.
