Something like a 1-4x22 would be ideal. Need long eye relief, it will be mounted on my sks on a scout mount. 250/300$ tops. Something that will last, no junk. Any deals out there? Cheers. ;)

You get what you pay for. There is nothing of quality available in that range. Not to mention putting glass on an SKS is a futile exercise and a waste of effort. They're an iron sight gun or red dot at best.

I wouldn't bother to put a scope on an SKS, but I also don't own an SKS. You should do what you want.

If you will go with a fixed 4x, consider Weaver's 4x28mm Scout scope from their Classic K series. I think you can find it for under $300. Hi-Lux makes a 2-7x32 intermediate eye relief scope for scout mounts. Or they did. If you like this idea but can't find one new, pm me and I'll sell you mine, which I haven't gotten around to using in over a year so I probably never will. It'll be cheaper than the Weaver.

Thanks Tooner for actually answering my question. Ill will keep your offer in mind, thank you. There was also a fixed 2x Leupold almost exactly what i wanted for 275$ shipped. I just wanted to see whats out there.

I didn't know Vortex did an extended eye relief scope. But now I do, thanks.

And as a result of this thread, I've just sold that Hi-Lux mentioned in post #4 to another Gunnut.

Its not as far forward as I would like, but it seems to be okay. Rest my head a little farther back on the stock perhaps. I filed down my ejection port area so my shells fly out to the right.

Vortex was ok, but i saw something else i really liked more. Its a VOMZ russian made PO compact 3.5x scope with german post reticle from Corwin. really neat to have with a SKS. so far so good 200 rounds.
