Looking for a gunsmith that can do a custom Mosin Nagant build for me

There are probably vintage Lyman or Redfield sights that could be adapted to the MN receiver.
Being able t get a stock would be a real plus.

I've just had a successful raid on ebay and grabbed a front sight base and a front post for a Finn M39. I still need adjustment screws for the front post though.. hopefully I can just reuse some of the modern production headless screws instead. I just need to figure out what's their thread diameter and pitch. Now I'm pretty much set on the M28 barrel option :) Still need to figure out the rear sight part, probably something like this will work out

And I have absolutely no idea where to find the stock.. must be unobtanium.

A little peep sight like a Williams is pretty elemental, compared with the sights on the 28-76 rifles. Adjustment is primitive, and range of adjustment is very limited.
I do not know if rifles, stocks or parts might be available in Finland. Wouldn't know where to begin. A Finnish speaker and a telephone might be a start.

I agree with tiriaq. I was able to source parts from Finland. Still can't get a new M39 stock with hardware though.
I have an M28 rear sight blade assembly. You would still need the rear base assembly from an M28 or M39 and solder it back on the barrel.
You could also check the FinnAccuracy website or page on Facebook.

Found a 28-76 for sale in the US. US$1050.

I have never machined a barrel to fit a MN; don't know what is involved. Don't have a 7.62x54R reamer. So, obtaining, fitting and chambering a quality barrel would be a bit of an adventure, with a price tag attached.
Realistically, I do not know what other cartridge would work through the magazine and action apart from the 9mm and 6.5mm versions of the x54R cartridge.
Having a 28-76 stock available would be an incentive.
It would be an interesting project, albeit challenging and perhaps expensive.

It's a small adventure. Probably not a whole lot different than installing one on a SMLE. Threads are SAE. Here's a pic showing the extractor cut from a 91/30 right and M27 barrel left. Using a mill would be the easy way.

SAE threads make a big difference - don't have the gearing to cut metric. I would just do the extractor cut by hand.
I prefer doing metal work to wood work. Unless I were to stumble across a 28-76 stock, I'd be reluctant to consider a MN project like this.

Apparently I just got a complete M28 rear sight assembly from Ebay too :) Got this one:

I messaged you about the front sights

I'm going to source a semi-custom prefit from McGowen. They offer a M28 profile that is threaded and chambered, so I'll have to find someone who can install the barrel, make that extractor cut and put everything together.

Thanks to all of you guys who are providing suggestions and options, that's really helpful. My vision changed quite a bit from what I was thinking initially. Building a M28 clone is a lot more fun then just another bull barrel target rifle and I'm going in that direction now.

That looks like an M27 rear sight assembly. I have one too. You still need a base to attach that rear sight assembly which I don't have.
I don't have the front sight for an M28. My rear sight blade is from an M28-30 and similar to an M39. The same rear sight assembly on the M28/76.
