Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone from the Toronto area wants to take to the bush for some dinner catching? I'm interested in hunting duck, goose, grouse, rabbit and deer (when season opens).

I'm thinking about heading north to chase down some grouse. I currently own a .22 semi and 12ga pump for small game and upland. I have full camo and also hunter orange.

Let me know if your interested and when you'd like to head out.

Cheers!

robinhood,

I would be very interested in small game hunting from the second half of October (after I get back from moose hunting). I also have .22 and 12ga.
Let me know if you have a plan.
I'm in Oshawa.

Rusty,
Sounds good bud. Drop me a PM and we'll make plans.

Northwoodslivin,
Depends on the game I'm chasing. I'll more than likely go way north at times for Deer hunting during archery season.

Snowhunter,
I hear ya there. I'm told there is some good hunting west ontario. Being my first time hunting in Ontario I'm still researching best locations to try my hand.

Ah.

Well I am up in the Kirkland Lake area if your interested in making the trek. Have just about everything here when it comes to small game, moose and deer also.
Cheers and good luck finding someone to hunt with

A good hunting buddy is hard to find. Once you weed out the guys that just want to get drunk and high in the bush (I have no problems drinking after to celebrate and as for 'smoke', well just go downwind) you have to find someone that will use their head before their trigger finger. I had a guy shoot a little too close in my 'general' direction as I went forward to stalk a buck. I wasn't quite in position on the standing deer when his rounds started flying past. Glad I had a semi going on, 2 out of 3 shots hit the deer. He was 0 for 2. At least he was smart enough to stop shooting when he saw me hit it. And no he couldn't see where I was, he was 'pretty sure' I wasn't in the line of fire.

I will drop friend like that in a sec.
My rule when I hunt same spot with my partner is we walk loaded but not chambered, so if anyone drops a rifle by an accident or pull the trigger with a help of the branch nothing happens.
When we settle in location and have establish radio contact, then we chamber the round in if we wish.
I find this very safe and my buddies understand my concern so there is no problem.

Hey north,

My property is by Ramore. I'm going there for moose hunting in mid October.
I will go up again in November if the snow is not too bad. I can hardly wait to try my new Stevens 200 .223 for varmint hunting.
PM me and we'll make arrangement.
BTW, we shot lots of grouse last year. I hope this season will be just as good.
Not so good for bears... No berries this year due to the frost in June. There will be a bunch of young bears dying of hunger. :-(

Hey man,

Right on.

I'll be in touch with you.

PS
Yep, bad year for the bears here, the blueberrie's were crap this year. All was mostly lost when we had that frost the second week of june I believe.

Lot's trapped and shot by LEO's.
