Ok so i have a problem, i'm 17 and have passed the RPAL but b/c i m not 18 i can't own a restricted:(, and my dad is too lazy to get his). So i was wondering if it would be a possibility no matter how remote that i could find some one who is a member of the Oshawa Skeet and Gun Club (as that is the club i frequent) who would be willing to allow me to shoot one of their handguns, i would be willing to pay for wear and tear and have my own ammunition, factory not reloads. I understand this may be asking alot but i'm desperate:D. I have shot hanguns before 200+ rounds from .38spl, .38 & .40 S&W, and .45 ACP.
Thank you

Dudley, if you are a member of the club i'm sure someone will let you shoot. If not you and your dad must know some members who you can talk to. I know at my club people are encouraged to try different firearms, so they get to choose the one that suits them best. I cannot speak for everyone, but I know those who do Cowboy Action Shooting are usually only too happy to let you try a shoot; ask around.

Hi Dudley,

I'm a member at oshawa.. just got my restricted and i'm waiting for the club handgun safety course (which i hope to do this month)... then i'll be able to get my ATT .. when I get it, I'll let you know... I'll be bringing my 17 yr old son with me as well.. you can PM me and let me know next time you're going up there.

Valmet 262 Bravo to you! Use the most extreme security issues to be sure to indoctrinate a safe shooting situation at all times. Once the youg ones realise not to keep the finger on the trigger untill they see a target, everything else will fall in!

Then, you should get them to try a Black Badge course for IPSC shooting, even if they don't shoot many matchs! They will be safe and enjoy shooting targets.

got it covered henry... I have 3 kids (2 adult girls and a 17 yr old son).. I have introduced quite a few of my kids' friends to shooting..

I just had 4 of my 22 year old daughter's friends complete and pass the PAL safety course, 3 of which have already sent in their applications.

All 4 of these kids come from non-gun owning families. We have to keep the tradition going... strength in numbers.
