looking for a mild 45acp load

Use a 230 grain cast RN or FP and Bullseye. Mine likes 4.5 grains. SWC's require the pistol to be set up to feed 'em and 175 grainers are too light.

I'm using Trailboss with 230gr Berry's bullet. The minimal load (I think it was 3.5gr) on the book just cycles my Norc 1911. It feels like a big slow .22. I had a good laugh when I tested it out. I don't recommend that but is funny to shoot. I've found 4gr of trail boss makes for a nice load. Not your typical powder for this purpose but that's all I could get at the time so figured why not. Other benefit of using trail boss especially if you are new to reloading is its physically impossible to double throw powder into a .45acp case.

So faster burning powder is better for light loads? Anyone use tightgroup in a lee auto disc?

I found that my Lee autodisc powder measure leaked pretty badly. It was annoying enough that I faced lightly sanded the seating points for the powder hopper until it lightly bound against the discs. I then shimmed it back up a hair using aluminium foil shims until it worked smoothly again. It still leaked but it was a quarter to a fifth as much. It made using the finer grained powders and thin flake style powders far nicer.
