Looking for a new 9mm...

CZ 75 Shadowline without the light rail is the sweetest looking CZ made except perhaps for the 75B New Edition. SIG 226 is an excellent pistol and maybe my next purchase. The 75 Combat by CZ or the 75B are excellent pistols as well. The only difference in performance for any of these pistols is price for most shooters. Pick any one of them and enjoy a lifetime of shooting.

I would not go PARA due to lack of Canadian support and the 1911 can be frustrating in 9MM (STI Trojan being the exception from my experience).

Thanks all...lots of great feedback. Seems the Shadow is the fave...and a few others to consider that I hadn't. Will drop the Para from the list. I have enough 1911's, and seems the 9mm versions don't get very good reviews.

Ok...Heading to the LGS to purchase on Thursday and will make up my mind there...Will update post with pics once all is said and done.

I have both a P226 Enhanced Elite and a CZ75 SP-01 Shadow. The CZ is the easiest to shoot most accurately - the thing just points so easily and shoots where it points. Makes me look better than I am. The P226 is also accurate but I have to concentrate a little bit more to get the same consistent POI shot-after-shot. The P226 feels more rugged, durable and resistant to failure. I use the P226 for CQB and the CZ75 for IPSC. My recommendation is the CZ for the range and the P226 for SHTF.

I'm currently attempting to sell my 226R for right on $1000 shipped (will drop price lower tomorrow) that includes a not installed SRT, holster and magazine holster, and 3 magazines. Gun is in fantastic condition. I am selling bevause at my pay grade, I have no reason to own a firearm this expensive.

I bought a Tanfoglio Stock lll Extreme and a Walther P99AS in 9mm and in 40S&W i bought a Jericho 941 polymer...
I will see which one will shine... JP.

You should know the answer to that question already, JP!

Hint...check purchase price!;)

It doesnt alway work this way, exception surge from time to time... Glock GL17L with 3.5 pounds spring and connector kit, under 1K pistol, very high on my precision list... JP.

Well, I went with the Sig...got a great deal and in the end I think the sig just suits me better - fit my hand perfectly. Now the waiting...hopefully I can pick it up before Christmas.

Thanks all for the great advice and opinions.

Excellent choice. You will have a lifetime friend. We all have our favourites. While I don't own a Sig I know they are an excellent pistol. For most folks it is always the archer not the arrow. I have four or five different pistol makes and I shoot them all virtually the same. Most modern pistols are reliable, accurate shooters so it really boils down to personal preference and to a lessor degree intended use. You have not gone wrong going with the SIG 226.

In this sequence,

CZ
Sig
HK30

you won't regret any of them. I have all 3. If I have enough money, I will buy both 9mm and 40S&W for each one of them. their recoil are just so light.

Looking for opinions and thoughts on a new 9mm. I have it narrowed to 3 but open to other suggestions. Budget is right around $1000. Factors to consider besides trigger, accuracy and fit/finish are availability and price of accessories (holsters / mags etc.). Already have striker fired...want a good hammer fired 9mm now.
3 contenders are...
Sig P226
Para Expert 1911
Cz Shadow

I have tried them all and now I can't decide...Would be happy with any of them.

Opinions?

Thanks.
