Looking for a new gun VZ58 vs T97

M14.ca has some very exciting stuff in the works for the T97.. I'd like an 858, it's an excellent gun by reputation, but I wouldn't trade my T97 for it. Handles like a dream, accurate, soft on the recoil and it gives Windy Wendy the fits :D

Don't hate it.

Its just that CSA makes crap. Cracked bolt carrier, broken firing pins, receiver issues etc.

Just look at all the CSA related topics. I'm not making this up.

Not whining, just warning they guy whos going to buy CSA.

Not my fault if you do have a CSA and you are unconfortable about it :D
 
You can do things with a Vz58.

If you want to try different stocks, different hand guards, different optics and muzzle brakes. It's a platform open to customization.

Currently the only choice you get with a T97 is awkward red dot, or unusual iron sights.

If you just buy and shoot stock rifles anyway, it might not make any difference to you. But personally I like changing things around:

Not at all, I have no dog in this fight. I am just tired of reading your crap.
 
Having owned both I would go with the T97 without question.

... and yes! I have reasons why!! ;)

The CZ858 can have ''gremlin'' issues (VERY annoying)
The CZ858 is limited to 5 rounds (T97 takes LAR 15 mags)
The long barrel on the CZ 858 is a total bummer... for me at least

The T97 looks ... well that is up to you. I think it looks cool and ugly rifles are just more fun in my opinion.
I have put at least 500 rounds through my T97 without a single hiccup ... that said neither did my CZ858 (other than the gremlin)
and having shot both quite a bit... the T97 takes the cake for fun points!

just my 2 cents
