Looking for a new hunting rifle

Was looking for a versatile hunting rifle which i could take for most medium to big game and was thinking getting a weatherby mark v but is it worth the price?
 
I believe that any Sako rifle is the best bang for your buck. I favor the older models, L61R, V, V1, etc. Good luck and have fun shopping!
 
The Tikka is a far better rifle for the money, maybe an A7 if you want to have a Sako.The 75 and 85 are over priced and problematic .Try Winchester model 70 or a Kimber if you want value for your money.
 
If your thinking sako, just get a tikka. If your wanting traditional you can't go wrong with a winchester m70 as stated above. If you want cheaper but not too far off in quality, go with a CZ.
 
Vanguard S2 (made by HOWA Japan), HOWA's are all good (I have a few). You don't have to spend a lot to get a good quality hunting rifle. Where you should spend the money is on a good mounting system, and optic. "Cheaping out" on optics can cause that "buck of a lifetime" to be a foggy blur. Calibre is always personal preference. When I think of versatile I would consider 270, 30/06, 308 etc. Easy to get ammo, easy to shoot, if reloading there's a wide range of bullets available.
 
A used sako a7 is generally cheaper than a new t3x. It also has a lot of features the t3 is lacking in my opinion. I've seen very good deals for them, mine is very accurate and I have no complaints about its operation.

T3's are good rifles and I'm sure the t3x addressed some of the flaws in them but the a7 is my preference as someone who has owned multiple t3's.

That depends on 1. How much you like that rifle and 2. How much time and effort it takes you to get that much money.
 
In my opinion the MkV is worth the money, but it depends what cartridge you plan on buying it in and which of the trim levels you're looking at. In my humble opinion, for someone buying new, the best options are Browning X-bolt, and anything from Kimber or Weatherby.
 
Weatherby MKV certainly is worth the price, if you have an appreciation for the features it has that make it special.
Is it better than others for less money ? Who defines 'better' ?
Sometimes you have to pay the price to get just what you want
 
Its nice but I don't have my heart set on it, I also wasn't planning on using the weatherby cartridges so it might not be worth the extra cash since the tikkas and sakos are right up there with accuracy.
