Hey everyone, first off would like to say hello, as I'm new to this site. :)

Secondly, I've had my PAL for quite a while now, but because of school, work, and a plethora of other things I have never been able to find the time to go out and find a range to shoot at. (I have a Ruger M77, and a SKS - chinese model). I was just looking for opinions on the best range around Brantford for the best cost. I did a quick search and found a few: Brant Rod and Gun club would probably be my first choice due to its proximity, but the website really lacked in detail. Anyone have any experiences with it? I've heard of Silverdale as well, but due to its distance from Brantford I doubt I'd be able to make it out as much as I would like.

Any other suggestions would be great!

I used to live in brantford....these are your options.

Brrc, primarily a pistol club
Hamilton angling and hunting association, not a bad club, a lot of trap fudds in my experience
Waterford - not a bad little club, was only a member there for a year or so.

Would just like to thank you all for the replies! Will definitely try to take a look at those ranges. Just hope I can find the time to shoot haha

I just wanted to elaborate on this.. Yes, it is an indoor range and the distance is only 50yds, but you can still have fun with a rifle as the backstop is rated to take ANY caliber you can fire out of a rifle. The only reason .50BMG isn't allowed (other 50's are) is that it's an indoor range and the concussion would be huge. The advantage to joining our club is that we have an indoor heated facility with target returns that you can use 24/7. Wednesday nights are rifle nights and a lot of fun.

Very nice to hear TRaTSeRiF, once life cools down in the near future I might go check it out -sadly it would be a little difficult for me to make it out for 12 sessions during the probationary period right now haha

Cheers,

Dan

You must be confusing us with Guelph.. We have 6 probationary sessions and with most disciplines you can be in and out in 90min of observation. You can stay longer if particularly interested in the discipline and at times even get to shoot some guns you wouldn't normally come across. With that being said, 12 sessions in a year that they have at GRGC aren't bad, but it's the mandatory 1yr wait that I'm not a big fan of.
