Hey Folks,

just got my non-restriced pal and I've purchased a .270 hunting rifle as well as I've inherited a 12 gauge shotgun from my father-in-law. My buddy just purchased an 7.62x39 (I think those are the numbers) and I was wondering where we could go to shoot them...indoor or outdoor. Obviously right now I'd prefer indoor but if there are places outdoor (gravel pits or facilities) I'd like to know those as well.

Thanks in advance!

You might be able to shoot the 7.62 at Xtreme.
The WPRA range up off Mcphillips has the closest outdoor/indoor range where you can shoot high power rifles.
Other than that you're looking at Selkirk or Steinbach or the gravel pits.
White Wolf if you don't mind the drive up north.
There is also the St Charles range on the west side of the city but that's DND and you have to join the long range guys club and they get to shoot only on specific days.

Xtreme Gun Shooting Center on Larche is approved for 7.62x39 rounds but they only allow you to use their guns and ammo unless you apply for membership... It is rather costly there.

You most likely need to find a nice secluded place outdoors unless you want to buy a membership somewhere expensive... I am going to take a wild guess that you're not intersted in spending 300+ on a range membership for indoor shooting.

No I'm not interested in spending several hundred a year to shoot. I went to Reynolds pond this winter on a nice day and it turned out to be a lot of walking (like an hour and a half). Is there an easy way to get there?

Also, are gravel pits legal to shoot in? Like out in St. Andrews or something? I live in south Winnipeg, if there are some close places outdoors I'd love to go check them out.

Thanks!

Don't forget Winnipeg Trap & Skeet for fun with the shotgun. Just a few minutes south of the Perimeter on Highway 3.

Gravel pits?

What gravel pits can I shoot in? Can anyone give some specific addresses? I know I've shot in St. Andrews before with my father in law but I can't remember how to get there....are there any ones closer to Winnipeg as well?

Thanks!
