You can just cut an el' cheap-o wooden dowel.

You live in Woodbridge. Hit Sail or Basspro in Vaughan (Woodbridge). The replacement plugs are only a few $.

I am guessing pretty much any sporting goods store that has any credibility would have a mag plug for your 870....not exactly the hardest firearm to find stuff for.

Just be careful with the home made ones if it can be removed by just taking the mag cap off it is not seen as legally plugged and they can and have charged hunters .

Factory rem wood plug is stepped and of proper diameter so it will not come out without removing the mag tube spring retainer.Pending the diameter used in a home made they can be removed by just screwing off the mag cap and tipping the gun. Those are not legal

That's one of the silliest things I've read on CGN... I'm sure I don't need to tell you just how silly that makes this statement but its pretty darn silly.
Many guys remove or lose the "mag tube spring retainer". Are they also in danger of a ticket from the C.O?



Sigh, yet another reason why you shouldn't take legal advice from the interwebs... Oh, and FYI hunting laws are provincial.
