Looking for a possible 1-6x or 1-4x for XCR .308 any suggestions?

Was looking at Mark AR but isn't it designed for .223/5.56 rounds for bullet drop comps?

Jerry do you have any more info on it? Went to your site that model is not on there.

Ive been very happy with my hi-lux CMR 1-4. It comes in well below your budget. I am no expert, but have no complaints. Others who know more than me say it is a better scope than its price point.

Leupold 1.25-4 patrol.
Mil reticle, mil turrets, daylight visible illumination, and most importantly, it's light.
Every ounce added is felt on a gun like the xcr-m due to its forward weight bias.
Glass is very good, makes something like a millet/burris/hi-lux look like dirty goggles.
Quality of glass is more important than magnification power in the 1-8 range.
I like the sightron's glass and mag range, but the reticle and illumination are not great.

If it were me, I would buy a used Trijicon TR-24. That said, the Sightron and Leupold scopes are also quality products. I have no experience with Russian optics, so can offer no comment on them.

Meopta scopes.

The glass will blow away basically everything else. Made in the Czech Republic. They used to made a couple high end brands on contract, but now have focused on their own line.

We'll have some more options shortly.

Hey man, I'm also in the market for a new optic for my XCR-M. I'm currently using the Elcan SpecterDR 1-4x, and while it's a great piece of glass, I've had some zeroing issues with it. I'm probably going to switch it out to my wife's .223 if/when I find a suitable alternative. I've been doing a ton of research on brands and pricing, and I think you'll find this awesome thread very helpful:

BigJim has done a TON of work, including his own testing of a lot of the listed scopes himself. The chart on the 1st page might be all you need to check out the various options for black rifles like the XCR. Just keep in mind, the prices are in US dollars, and some of the scopes might not be obtainable up here if there's no Cdn distributor. Case in point, for your price range, my personal opinion is the SWFA SS 1-4x24 is one of the most highly regarded scopes out there, but as of last time I checked, it's still not available in Canada. In fact, I think there's an active thread on these forums about somehow drumming up enough interest to get SWFA to export up here. But definitely take some time and check out some of the different options, just know these are all variable scopes primarily in the 1-4x or 1-6x magnification range.
As for myself, I think I'm gonna be going with the Nightforce NXS Compact 1-4x24. It gets nothing but great reviews, is a bit pricey but still not up in the insane range of the Steiners and S&B's of the world, and is a good application for what I'm mostly doing at my club (50-300yd targets).

Hope this helps,

Glenn

I had a Bushnell 1-8 on my AR and that was great but still wanted more for the target shooting stuff. Moved to a 2.5-16x. Have it in the EE right now for way under your budget but you would need a cantilevered rail for it due to the long eye relief.
