Looking for a quality .22lr plinker/hunting gun

how old or big is your son and daughter? if small please buy a CZ scout for $430 I can point you towards one. They are mag fed, but come with single shot adaptor. They are very accurate, and will last a life time. If you want a bigger rifle with iron sights you can still find a CZ lux 452 for around $530, beautiful shooting rifle. You will keep it forever, not lose any resale value and have many years of great shooting. CZ's are the best value for the $$ they shoot almost all 22 ammo real well, which many 22's don't . They are very well made, they are valued by the shooting community, ALL of them shoot well so you don't need to worry about getting a dud. Really Everything about them is good. to get a better 22 you have to spend twice the money. The little scout is a wonderful rifle although small its super accurate.

As both a Savage MKII BTVSS and Ruger 10/22 Takedown owner, I can highly recommend both. Both are well made, accurate, and fun to shoot. The later (standard variants) have a TON of aftermarket options, and the Savage is solid and well designed in factory form, and really doesn't need any upgrades! I wish I could say the same about the non-Canadian made Savage centerfires. For some strange reason, the Accutrigger on my Savage .22 is great -- crisp and no creep! The so-called "target accutrigger" on my Savage 10BA was a piece of Poo.

If you happen into a gun shop and see they have a 10/22, buy it because it probably wont be there the next day

The Henry lever is affordable, fun to shoot and a great choice to teach the kids. The CZ 452 is an amazing rifle, beautiful and accurate. It will last a long, long time. I recommend either of these. They're both on my never going to sell list.

Every 10-22 I've ever owned got sold... and there has been quite a few. I have had over a hundred 22's and still have a few . My go-to is a Ruger 77/22 stainless. Accurate as hell and dependable. I have a CZ 452 and it too is accurate. Buy something you like and don't skimp on quality.

Yes i go with that. So many good rimfires. Go out there and handle them. Go with on you feel good with. If one of them is a 77/22, CZ, ZASTAVA, ANSCHUTZ, SAKO and a few others, well your in buisness. You can buy with confidence. It will give you years of fun and dependable shooting. Good luck.
