Looking for a range in the Calgary area that has some decent distance. I'm looking at starting to learn how to shoot long range. I realize that It would be hard to find a range that can get out a 1000m. Does anyone know of any that has decent distance?

Very much so. Only been to Sibbald public range once during a work day. Never again. I value my life. Plus it's only 100y filled with garbage.

We shoot on crown land. Few spots to get to 1000+ They are getting busier though and quieter spots require further driving or 4x4 / hiking in.

Unless you shoot F class you are SOL on the 900 Metre range. Iirc you need to do 4 shoots a year to get a key as a full member. The are looking for members. I stick to the back country.

Might be heading out tomorrow but mostly doing work on the "public" range I tend to go to. Leveling off an elevated shooting platform and hiking out to set-up targets and paint gongs among other work.

A few weeks ago I brought out wood and set-up a new 100y board. Somebody felt the need to shoot the supports of the last one...

I heard today that the Rocky Mountain range has 550 yards. 1200y next year, with somewhat reasonable fees. Problem is it's 200km away.

Join the Buffalo Target Shooters they shoot at the APRA range on Wednesday nights.

Thanks. I was in your store for the first time last week. I was impressed. The staff was very friendly and even gave me and my family a tour of the range. My wife even signed up for the pal and rpal course. I was browsing around and 3 different employees came to ask if I needed help. Once my rpal comes in the mail ill be coming to see you guys about a membership.
