Not sure who you sold it too but if i was the buyer i would not be real happy about you posting the serial number on an open form on the internet

Maybe so but i will tell you about a buddy of minenthat had a rifle a guy wanted to buy from him an old winchester but my friend would not sell long story short guy took serial number and literally reported it stolen and said he suspected who had stole it my friend got xharged with theft lost that rifle and can never own another gun plus a criminal record theres some sneaky people out there

You need more than the serial number to claim ownership of something. I had an expensive bicycle stolen, found it for sale on Kijiji, called opp and told a cop at the police station what was going on. Told her I had the serial number for the bike recorded. She said that wasn’t good enough. You need to also have a receipt or registration or something that references the serial number. I was able to find the receipt but it didn’t reference the serial number and that also wasn’t good enough. I ended up messaging the guy, meeting him at Tim hortons, telling him I was the owner and he gave it back. When you buy something used on marketplace or kijiji you need to always get a hand written receipt with the price, date, serial number, sellers name and signature so they can’t claim it was stolen later. If you could do it just by knowing the serial number and nothing else people could just take anything they wanted from anyone they wanted. Serial numbers aren’t usually hidden on most things.

Not everybody can afford a lawyer. I wont even tell you what happend when my dad died and certain police wanted to get the mitts on his extensive collecrion of guns that they wanted for themselves

I agree, no offense intended.

Your corrupt police story doesn't surprise me. When I served, corruption was approximately 10% of the department. Twenty five years later, today it's closer to 80% corruption. One of our local Cranbrook, BC Mounties was just caught and fired due to his idea of keeping a restricted handgun an older female senior had him pick up for destruction. Of course he originally lied about it, go figure, a dishonest cop!......:)

An acquaintance of mine who just retired from the RCMP stated the internal corruption in the RCMP could be as high as 90% now. And goes right up the chain of command. Remember, sh!t runs down-hill......:(

With the current tyrannical and corrupt Liberal Government, and the disgraceful RCMP who protect these criminals, what does one expect?.....:(

And no, I'm not going to get into a discussion with any key-board warriors, wanna-be cops, or even current law enforcement.

Not every cop is corrupt, there are few good ones left, but unfortunately not very many.

Eventually, it's going to be, the ole', "I was only following orders bull-sh1t"......:(

Over 25 years of law enforcement experience has taught me that the police are not your friend. It's a crying shame, as a young boy in Alberta during the 1960's, I loved the police, being a cop is all I ever wanted. The police back then were real men, with integrity, honor, and kindness, as well as common sense.

Not thugs, bullies, weirdos, or creeps protecting criminals......:(

We certainly need a huge correction in Canada, don't we?
