I am inheriting a couple of prohibited handguns and from my understanding they can be changed to a restricted classification.

I am looking for someone:
1 - To switch a barrel on a Beretta model 72 to change it from a prohibited handgun to restricted (have the longer barrel it came with) and submit the paperwork required (unless this can be done by myself).
2 - Change the barrel over on a S&W 629 revolver with a 3" barrel to a 4 1/4" barrel to make it restricted instead of prohibited. (I don't have the parts for this)

Need an idea of cost, and if this work is worth doing.
Still waiting on my RPAL, and hoping to get everything in place when it comes through.

Thanks in advance.

This is the only one to do the S&W 629....But it's going to be expensive to get a longer barrel install. Give them a call for a quote.

Thanks guys.

I don't have an issue spending the money, as long as the gun will have enough value in it to be worth doing it.
Changing the barrel out and making it a restricted revolver instead of a prohibited revolver will open up the market to more potential buyers, if I ever decide to sell it down the road.
Was hoping it could get done properly, locally.

I also saw cautions online elsewhere about avoiding RDP.

,,,,,,, I agree with RANGER DAVE ,,,,, after 3 guns I have done ( all @ one time) ,,,,, I would never deal with "Bits of Pieces" again .
