guys,

i couldnt find anything in the search, im looking for a scope mount (preferably rail style) for my rem 870 express.

I have a 20" bbl with rifle sights, so the rail cant extend all the way to the front, preferably just long enough to cover the reciever.

I would like to be able to keep the rifle sights on the barrel as a back up of some sort. Anyone have an idea where to get this type of a mount?

Ive scene pics floating around on the net, but dont know of anyone who actually makes them. Any help would be great!

There are Saddle mounts made by B-Square, Millet, Remington, Leupold.

You can have your receiver drilled and tapped and a base installed, a Weaver # 62 or 93.

this is a Weaver sidemount on my 870. the 2 screws that hold it on replace the factory pins that go through the reciever. i think it was only $50 but u can get them cheaper. very sturdy...at least i think it is because my scope hasnt lost zero after many 3 1/2" turkey and buckshot loads as well as a bunch of sabots with the rifled barrel.

you can just leave the plate on it if you dont want the scope on by unscrewing those 2 thumb screws you can see in the pic. then when you want the scope again just it back on and the scope will be aligned properly and be very close to zero again if not right on. i give it 2 thumbs up :D
