So with the NEA 102 possibly making its way to us as NR, or as a backup if it doesn't I'm thinking XCR-M (either one of those in .308), I'm getting ready by looking at scopes. I want a 1x red dot but have always liked the versatility of variable magnification, mainly to make up for my vision (bigger target=easier to see/hit). This has led me to think of one of those 1-6 (or 8) x24 scopes with a 30mm tube and if possible an illuminated reticle. I'd like to keep the optic under $1500. Any thoughts? Anyone that has something on their rig that they like/love?

Thanks in advance :)

Millet DMS 1-4, I like it better than the 1-6... waaaaaay under your budget and a great place to start. Get a good mount like Larue or ADM. Also check out/ google what folks use for 3gun and similar competitions.

Thanks Freezer Filler (I wish I could have a handle like that and have it be true lol). Honestly I've never looked at Millet (or lower priced glass) because I'm always worried about the quality of the view through it, but they seem to have some decent review on Optics Planet...thanks for pointing that one out to me as an option! I've looked at what the 3-gunners seem to be using but dang if a lot of those aren't stupidly expensive. Specifically the Leupolds Mark 6/8 type stuff or the Swarovski...even the Vortex Razor HD is kind of "up there".

I like nice glass but the Millet is a great place to start... I have 3 of them lol. Dot in donut/ heavy german#1 style hybrid reticle makes for quick and accurate target acquisition.

Vortex Strike eagle 1-6 $$550 I liked it so much I bought a second!
